JCI Philippines · Marikina City

Crafted in Marikina.Built to Lead.

Young active citizens of the Shoe Capital of the Philippines — shaping leaders, serving our city, and carrying forward the craft that made Marikina’s name.

01About Us

A chapter named for the craft of its city

For generations, Marikina has been known for one thing done exceptionally well: the handmade shoe. Its artisans once placed the city second only to Japan in Asian shoemaking — a legacy built stitch by stitch, in family workshops along the river.

JCI Marikina Sapatos carries that name with intent. As a local organization of Junior Chamber International Philippines, we gather young people aged 18 to 40 who believe leadership is a craft too — learned by doing, refined through service, and measured by the good it leaves behind.

Over six decades of inductions and turnovers, the chapter has trained leaders, answered the call when floods rose, and today stands behind the revival of the very industry it is named for.

“The community remains resilient… but it needs all the help it can get.”

Since Kapitan Moy’s first pair in 1887, Marikina shoes have been cut, lasted and stitched by hand. We lead the same way: with patience, precision and pride in the craft.
